Description:This park is a hidden gem with a 1.2 mile (one-way), mostly paved trail meandering above a tranquil creek and shaded by a canopy of trees, with about 180ft of altitude change. The trail begins from a parking lot next to the North Star Mining Museum. There are various pieces of historical mining equipment near the entrance and beginning of the trial you can enjoy.
A few years ago, they added the Daspah Seyo Trail, named in honor of the Nisenan people. This trail is a must-see and my favorite part of the walk. This trail veers off the paved trail down along the creek, shortly after passing the Animal Control Office. This horseshoe-shaped trail is a beautiful dirt trail enveloped by majestic redwoods. It connects to the paved trail on either side; however, during my visit, a large fallen tree blocked access to the trail that connected to the paved trail further down, but I retraced my steps and it was still enjoyable. There are trash cans available at the trailhead. No restrooms or running water, so bring you water and pack out your trash.
