Description: This large beach features a couple miles of clean, sandy beach along the shore. It also has tide pools and a large rock, just offshore, which you can climb at low tide. You have to walk down a steep 0.2 mile paved trail to reach the beach, which can be wet on certain parts but has a rail where it's slippery. The beach can be inaccessible in a few places at high tide. Parts of the beach have large waves with strong currents, so I would not recommend swimming. Keep your dog on-leash, and you can enjoy a beautiful walk along the ocean, with the possibility of spotting seals or whales. This is a little-known hidden gem, and you might be fortunate enough to have the place all to yourself. Your walk back up will take about 5 minutes, with just over 100ft of elevation gain. I recommend checking the tides before your visit, and coming when it’s close to low tide. Click the link below for tide information.
Pit toilets and trash cans are available in the parking lot. There is no running water, so bring plenty.
