Address: GPS Coordinates: 37.846124, -122.300662 (Point Emery Lane off of W. Frontage Road near the end of Highway 13). Parking: Free parking lot at the address above Hours: Daily 6 A.M. to 10 P.M. (parking lot closes at 5 P.M. on 4th of July) Type: Walk (on-leash) Regulations: Dogs allowed on-leash Best time to visit: Anytime as long as it's not a very hot day. The trail stays a bit cooler than the surrounding area since it's right next to the water, but it's completely exposed to sun so can still get hot on a very hot day. Description: This is a nice, flat walk along the water at Point Emery in Emeryville. We encountered very few people walking and a couple bikes using the paved path. This was a great less-crowded option as opposed to some of the parks nearby, like Cesar Chavez. We liked this area because it's right along the scenic shoreline and has a dirt path with no foxtails, which is rare this time of year. The path runs from the parking lot about 1/2 mile South down to the pier near where Chevy's used to be, and it has some interesting art sculptures, like the Red Baron Plane. We passed two small beaches along the way, but they were overgrown so I can't recommend them for swimming. To the north, you can walk the Bay Trail along Frontage Road from the parking lot all the way to Brickyard Cove or Cesar Chavez Park (a little over 2 miles). Please note there is a currently a small homeless encampment along the road if you take the north route. We took the south route.
There are trash cans in the parking lot, but no restrooms or running water.
