Description: I just discovered this beautiful park, which I mistakenly believed for years was not dog-friendly because it’s a wildlife refuge. This trail takes you down a dirt road and over narrow bridges that suspend you above a colorful salt marsh. Benches are available as well as one uncovered and one covered picnic table. Plenty of birds can be seen in the marsh and ponds. The terrain changes to sand as you emerge along the edge of a large salt pond. You will take a trail to your left over another long bridge, and up a short but steep slope to return to the direction of the parking lot. You can even admire panoramic views of the bay from the lookout platform at the top.
Restrooms, trash cans and a drinking fountain are available near the visitor’s center.
