Description: Motel 6 in downtown Monterey, not to be confused with Motel 6 at the Monterey Marina, is a small property with clean rooms, friendly staff, and amenities not normally found at a motel. This property only has about 20 rooms, and the rooms have been renovated and look modern. Rooms come with a mini-fridge and microwave, and there is coffee and tea available in the lobby. There is no fee for your dog to stay here, and there's even a walking trail across the street (near Don Dahvee Ln), for your dog to enjoy. We stayed two nights, and although there was construction going on above our room, it was quiet otherwise. All the dogs we encountered were friendly and not noisy. The room was very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was nice. We had a handicapped accessible room, with a large shower with good water pressure. The room was larger than most, and there was plenty of room for Bailey’s dog bed. Our room had a flatscreen TV with cable, and they can provide basic toiletries if you forget yours. Parking is free and abundant. Wifi is extra with a daily charge, but I did not use it during our stay.
