Address: Park Street between Encinal and Buena Vista ave, Alameda, CA Parking: I prefer to park at either the Encinal or Buena Vista end, so I can see all the cars in one loop. You can usually luck out and find free parking by circling near those streets. Hours: 10AM-4PM Type: Easy walk Regulations: Well-behaved dogs are allowed on leash. Please be respectful of the cars and other attendees. Best time to visit: This is an annual car show held on the 2nd Saturday in October. This year, it takes place on October 10, 2015
Description: I’ve been attending the Park Street Classic Car Show for many years, and was even a participant, showing my classic car 2 years in a row. This is a free event, and it is one of the best car shows in the Bay Area, with over 400 vehicles (1976 and older) lining Alameda’s historic downtown district on Park Street. The street is closed to traffic for the event. The show has a low-key, easy-going vibe, with fabulous cars. They have live music, a raffle, and other fun events throughout the day. The streets are flat so it’s an easy walk along 7 blocks. I usually go down one side and back up the other, so I don’t miss any cars. Beforehand, I head to a park to give my dog some exercise and make sure she uses the bathroom, and then we head over to the car show for an easy walk.
